6-week lessons

McKee Music introduced the concept of short term piano lessons in 2011.   It proved to be very popular and successful, so we will continue to offer 6 week courses throughout the 2013/14 year.  

This concept was designed for those who would like to try piano lessons, without the 10 month commitment that is typically required.  It is also an ideal situation for students who are no longer taking lessons but want to brush up on their skills perhaps for a talent show, or wedding, etc.   Some students opt to take the short term courses as they wait for a full time spot to become available.

6 week courses are offered at various times throughout the year, and students are welcome to register for one, or as many as they would like.  If a student did take all the courses, it would be equivalent to having half the amount of what a full-time student receives.  Though progress is slower than full time lessons, motivation is kept high because lessons become more of a special treat.  
 
Rates are the same as full time rates.  Payment for all 6 lessons are due at the first lesson. 
Please have a post-dated cheque in the amount of $120 accompanying the registration form. 
Cheques can be made payable to Kim McKee or McKee Music. 

Music books are provided for the lessons.  The student can choose to purchase the lesson book on the last day, for $13, and it can be used in subsequent courses.   Teachers may suggest additional books if the student has taken more than two 6 week courses.

Important Notes: 
During the school year, dates are specifically chosen as not to have lessons on school breaks or holidays (according to Rocky View School Calendar).

McKee Music always offers new full time spots to the 6-week students before accepting new students.

Missed lessons are not made up for 6-week courses.
